Applique Directions - Daffodil Pattern With a pencil, trace applique shapes onto paper side of fusible web. Cut out the shapes, leaving a ¼-inch margin around each piece. Fuse shapes to applique fabrics according to manufacturer’s instructions. Place fusible web shapes paper side up (you don’t want to fuse these to your iron!) on wrong side of each corresponding applique fabric and fuse in place. Allow to cool, cut out the shapes on the marked line and peel off paper backing. Place each shape right side up centered onto a 6½” background square, referring to pattern for placement. Fuse in place according to manufacturer’s instructions. Cover edges of each applique shape with hand or machine blanket stitch or machine zigzag or satin stitch. Blanket StitchTo blanket stitch by hand, use one or two strands of embroidery floss, stitching close to the edge all around each applique piece. |
